Bruce® Expands Popular Barnwood Living™ Collection by Mark Bowe to Include Engineered Hardwood
Febuary 1, 2022
Designed and Curated by Home Improvement T.V. Host Mark Bowe of Barnwood Builders®, the Collection Now Includes Solid & Engineered Offerings
LAS VEGAS, February 1 – Bruce® Flooring is adding engineered hardwood to its popular Barnwood Living™ Collection by Mark Bowe, by introducing 10 designs into the new American-made hardwood engineered collection. Both the solid and the engineered collection share five designs but also feature five different designs for a total of 15 designs that offer the authentic vintage look of a time-worn floor at a great price.
The Barnwood Living™ Collection is a select group of hardwood floors inspired by the timeworn character of reclaimed barnwood and manufactured to meet the practical demands of today’s homes. Bruce brings Bowe’s inspiration alive with consistent quality, authentic craftsmanship, and a durable scratch-resistant finish – all backed by a Lifetime Warranty. The Bruce product development team worked closely with Bowe to curate a collection that is representative of the wood he uses to restore barns and cabins on his T.V. Show, Barnwood Builders®, currently airing on the Magnolia Network™ .
The solid collection launched in 2020 and was met with a great deal of excitement across the country, which led to the expansion into engineered. Every floor in the solid wood collection is crafted with care in AHF Products’ Beverly, West Virginia plant. The new engineered line, made in Somerset, Kentucky, also features a vintage, barnwood visual that embodies an accessible yet faithful approach to an authentic hardwood design, including best-selling visuals from the solid line as well as five brand new looks in engineered. With the addition of engineered wood flooring, homeowners across the country can now enjoy a vintage reclaimed wood look anywhere in the home, above or below grade, including bedrooms, kitchens, living areas and basements.
“This collection brings a classic look to consumers with the quality and consistency they have come to expect from the Bruce brand,” said Wendy Booker, Vice President, Marketing & New Product Development, AHF Products. “These floors are not only for craftsmen like Mark, but also for homeowners who appreciate products that are authentic and familiar, that are handcrafted, and made in the USA. That’s the story of real American hardwood.”
“With Bruce, one of the oldest names in wood flooring, we were able to recreate a vintage look in a new wood floor, at a great price,” said Bowe. “I’m passionate about honoring the craft of America’s pioneer ancestors and am devoted to ensuring their hard work lives for centuries to come,” said Bowe.
The collection offers classic to trending colors, as well as both soft and aggressive textures to mimic an authentic rough-hewn visual, and these real wood floors are a great way to bring an ‘outdoor’ look inside.
“Some of these floors feature worm holes giving it a more authentic timeworn visual just like the natural vintage barnwood product. Bruce actually can replicate authentic saw marks, rough-hewn and wire brushing textures just like the real thing,” said Bowe.
As with the solid collection, there is a story behind each floor. The engineered collection includes four hickory, four red oak and one white oak:
· Hay Loft: Hickory, gently aged, brings to mind the patina of a vintage barn floor worn smooth from decades of stacking hay.
· Homestead: Inspired by the sense of distinction and grandeur found in large, historic estate homes and lodges across West Virginia.
· Hearthside: A rich, smoky patina, gives this oak the appearance of an old beam that has been given its color from years of resting over an open fire.
· Farmhouse: Inspired by the collection of historic farmhouses found in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, this rich Hickory evokes the feel of a mid-20th century farmhouse.
· Split Rail: Across the landscape of Preston County, West Virginia, pioneers staked their boundaries. This color is reminiscent of the split rail fencing that can still be seen crisscrossing the terrain.
In addition to price, there are other advantages of not using authentic reclaimed barnwood:
· Factory finish, durable finish
· Consistency in lumber quality, visual and performance
· Accessibility
· Warranty backed by Bruce®
